Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

The Lynke LLC (“Lynke,” “I,” “me”) is a travel-planning practice based in San Francisco, California. This policy explains what personal information I collect through www.lynke.com, how I use it, and the choices you have.

The short version: I do not sell your personal information, and I do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. I collect only what I need to answer your questions, plan your travel and run my business. It is used only for those purposes.

Information I collect

Information you give me. When you fill in a form, book a consultation or email me, I receive whatever you choose to share. Typically that is:

  • your name, email address and phone number
  • your travel plans, dates, interests and preferences
  • anything else you put in a message
  • itineraries or documents you upload

If you go on to plan a trip with me, I may also need details such as traveller names, dietary needs or accessibility requirements.

Passport information. Some bookings require passport details, for example where a hotel must record them for foreign guests. When that applies, I’ll send you a secure, encrypted link to upload them. Please don’t send passport details by ordinary email or through the website forms.

Payment information. Consultations are paid through my booking system’s secure third-party payment processor. I never see or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, www.lynke.com uses cookies and similar technologies. These record basic technical information such as your browser type, the pages you visit and general location (city or country). See Cookies below.

How I use it

I use your information to:

  • reply to your enquiries and keep in touch about your trip
  • schedule, hold and follow up on consultations
  • research, plan and make travel arrangements you’ve asked for
  • take payment and keep the records the law requires
  • understand how the website is used so I can improve it
  • add you to an interest list, such as for Hosted Journeys, but only if you ask to join

I don’t send marketing emails unless you’ve asked to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Who sees your information

I do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and I do not share it with third parties for their marketing.

Your information is seen by others only in these limited cases:

  • Service providers that run the website and my business. These are my website host (Squarespace), booking system (Acuity Scheduling), email provider (Google) and payment processor. They store or process information automatically as part of providing their services to me, so the site, bookings and email work. I don’t hand your information to them for any other purpose, and their handling of it is governed by their own privacy policies.
  • Travel suppliers, when you ask me to book something. When you ask me to reserve a hotel, guide, restaurant or experience, I pass on, myself, only the details that supplier needs to make the reservation, such as your name and travel dates, and passport details where the supplier is required to collect them.
  • When the law requires it. For example, to respond to a valid legal request.

Cookies

This website is built on Squarespace. Squarespace uses cookies that the site needs in order to work, plus basic analytics cookies that show me how visitors use the site. You can choose which non-essential cookies to allow through the Cookie Preferences link at the bottom of each page. You can also set your browser to block cookies, though some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.

My site doesn’t currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, but I don’t track you across other websites.

How long I keep it

I keep your information only as long as I need it for the purposes above. That includes keeping records for tax and accounting. After that, I delete it or keep it in a form that no longer identifies you.

Passport information is kept only as long as needed for your trip. I permanently delete it three weeks after your trip ends.

Keeping it safe

I use reputable providers and sensible safeguards to protect your information. Passport information is collected through a secure, encrypted upload link and stored in an encrypted, access-protected online vault. Still, no website or email system is completely secure, so please don’t send passport numbers or card details by ordinary email or through the website forms.

Your choices

You can ask me at any time to:

  • see the personal information I hold about you
  • correct it
  • delete it
  • stop using it for a particular purpose, such as taking you off an interest list

I’ll respond within a reasonable time and in line with the law that applies to you.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 16. I don’t knowingly collect their information except from a parent or guardian planning a family trip.
